| I've seen these scattered throughout the period. It appears that family and friends of the deceased would occasionally honor them by having an appropriate medal struck and copies distributed to the bereaved. This piece would likely be of this class of medal. There are no references to them (the medals) that I've found and the gentlemen seldom show up in standard histories. |
| The Latin roughly points out that the gentleman united wealth with literary knowledge. Forrer says he was a doctor in Stockholm. |
