   I have been unable to identify this medal in any of my catalogs but have tentatively dated it 1815. This is almost certainly a piece produced by the Lauer firm, hence the German inscription. There is a notation in Hennin that says that many of these brass pieces were produced as tokens for children's games.
   There's a possibility this was made during the Hundred Days but the inscription as "of France" is more typical of the post-2nd Restoration reaction rather than earlier populist legends such as "of the French".
